Apollo Androcare, launched by Ms Sangita Reddy in 2019, is born with the vision of catering to the less discussed, much ignored issue of male infertility.
Over the ages, whenever a couple faced difficulties in conceiving, the onus of responsibility invariably fell on the woman. She was the one who was tested and blamed for the situation. But it has been scientifically proved that while in some cases both partners have problems, in others, the issue could be with either the female or male partner.
Not being able to conceive a child can be stressful and frustrating. At Apollo Androcare, we understand, and treat the issue with all the sensitivity and confidentiality it deserves.
One of the major reasons for male infertility is negligible or no sperm in the semen. A condition that, in medical terms, is referred to as Azoospermia, and is known to affect about 1% of the total male population.
There are two probable causes for Azoospermia – non-production of sperm or presence of blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. While the latter case is relatively easier to solve, a patient with zero sperm count due to blockages or some genetic condition that prevents the release of sperms, requires special surgical treatment and procedures to facilitate an intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
Apollo Androcare’s team of fertility specialists with the latest advancements in the fields of Medicine, Research and Technology at its command, offer the best possible treatments, both surgical as well as non-surgical, to ensure a successful outcome.
Procedures
- Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA)
This is an invasive procedure which involves a needle penetration through the epidermis of the scrotum, which then aspirates the fluid inside the testicle. - Percutaneous Biopsy of the Testis (Perc Biopsy)
A technique similar to TESA, it is done with a bigger needle to extract more sperm. - Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA)
The procedure involves injecting the needle directly into the epididymis (a duct behind the testis, along which the sperm passes to the vas deferens) to extract sperm. - Microsurgical Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (MESA)
An open surgical procedure wherein the tubules of the epididymis are located with the help of an operating microscope, with greater precision, so as to aspirate a larger amount of sperm. - Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE)
For patients with zero sperm count and no blockages, TESE is an advanced sperm retrieval technique in which the scrotum is opened up surgically and a large amount of testicular tissue is extracted, from various parts of the testicles, to check and isolate sperms from it. - Microdissection TESE
This procedure involves a more focused dissection of the testicular tissue with the help of a microdissecting microscope. This process is less damaging and the impact on tiny blood vessels, post-surgery, and the risk of cutting them, is also considerably low.
Apollo Androcare is here to support couples facing male infertility. They create a compassionate, sensitive, and confidential environment to guide you through your fertility journey. By focusing on male infertility, Apollo Androcare aims to provide effective solutions and support. They make sure both partners feel heard, understood, and supported as they work together to conceive.
For many years, the treatment of fertility has targeted the female population more often than the male. Male infertility often gets overlooked as a result. This makes men who cannot conceive feel guilty and shut out. Male infertility plays a significant role in difficulties in conception. Ideally, both partners need to have their fertility problems tackled to achieve the best possible result.
If blockages are found, treatment is often straightforward. Surgery can remove the blockage and restore normal sperm delivery. If sperm production is absent, specialized surgical techniques can help. These procedures can retrieve sperm directly from the testicles for assisted reproduction, giving couples a chance at conception even when natural sperm production isn’t possible.
Apollo Androcare provides numerous advanced surgical treatments for male infertility. The most important ones include Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE), Microdissection TESE, and Microsurgical Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (MESA). Each procedure is to target a different cause for infertility, such as blocked delivery of sperm or low production of sperm. The chances of success are quite high for these surgeries, and many couples can be helped.
Microdissection TESE is a more precise version of standard TESE. Using a microdissecting microscope, the surgeon carefully examines the testicular tissue to extract sperm while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue. This technique improves the chances of retrieving sperm, especially in cases where sperm production is very low. Microdissection TESE offers better outcomes for men with specific infertility conditions.
In addition to surgery, Apollo Androcare provides several non-surgical treatments to improve sperm quality and fertility. These may include medications, lifestyle changes, and other non-invasive therapies. Your treatment plan will be customized based on your needs and condition. These methods can complement surgical treatments or serve as the primary option for some patients.
